Run for Pasig River 11-20-2011: A Success

Though I missed being part, physically, of making the Pasig River an ecologically bountiful river with the Run for Pasig River 11-20-2011 event early morning today, I still can say that by heart, I am still a part of it.

The event was indeed a success. Hopin’ that the Pasig River will remain clean and green. Let’s all live the green life today!

Give a Smile

It is always nice to help others, especially during the holidays. However, this opportunity to give less fortunate children a smile and a chance to excel is really a no brainer. CampusBookRentals.com partnered with Operation Smile and are donating over 1,000 life saving cleft lip surgeries this year to children in need.

Even though it is always nice to donate, whether it be time or money, this donation on your part is a breeze. All students need to do is rent their text books from Campus Book Rentals, and a portion of the money will go to Operation Smile. This is a great opportunity for everyone, both less fortunate children get to smile, eat and socialize, and students get books for a fraction of the retail price in most book stores.

By renting text books from Campus Book Rentals, students can save up to 90% on books. Additionally, shipping does not need to be a concern as it is free both ways. This rental site has the largest book selection in the nation, and has been assisting students since 2007. The process really could not be easier. Students simply order the books they need, receive them in the mail, use as they would a book purchased and then return at semesters end. The process can then be repeated to save students and/or parents a lot of money.

So, this holiday rent the books you need for next semester, and help less fortunate kids get the free surgeries they need.

Bunawan, Agusan del Sur Eco Park

When I went to our farm town in Trento, Agusan del Sur, I had a chance to visit Lolong, the largest crocodile caught in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur which had an Eco-Park built for her in the same town, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur but placed in different barangay from where it was caught.

Way to Bunawan, Agusan del Sur Eco Park

Lolong was caught in the water area of Bunawan, Agusan del Sur just at the vicinity of the Agusan Marsh while the Eco Park was built in Consuelo, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur.

I am not certain how far in kilometers barangay Consuelo is from the poblacion of Bunawan, but it took as almost 20 minutes to travel from poblacion Bunawan to the Eco park riding a motorcycle with a sidecar.

Solid Waste Management Reminder

Inside the Eco park were two crocodile pools. One for Lolong and the other, which is still under construction until the time we visited the park, was rumored to be the cage for Lolong’s boyfriend. LOL! There was also a big signage inside the park reminding every body to keep the Eco-crocodile park clean.
