Reduce Reuse Recycle

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle is one clever way to lessen the amount of waste produced even at home. It is basically a process of waste management.

I will give you a quick idea of what the three R mean.

REDUCE

Shop less, use less, reduce waste. Basically, that’s the main idea on this. People just need to buy less and use less to reduce the waste products.

REUSE

There are a lot of things at home that is when used at the first time are still reusable for how many more times.

RECYCLE

Aside from reusable stuff at home, the most common things we can see and check at home are the recyclable stuff. Instead of immediately throwing the used materials at home, it would be better to make use of them in other ways.

In my upcoming blog posts, I will be sharing and explain individually in each posts about reduce, reuse and recycle.

What are Biodegradable Materials?

Biodegradable materials are those used or left over stuff especially from home, from the kitchen that would definitely decompose in its own most natural way.

Some of which materials, aside from shown in the above image, are disposable cups, disposable utensils and other stuff at home or else where that are noted to be disposable and compost-able.

Let’s Segregate

Segregation, not the commonly thought of segregating one person or a group of people form another, is one way to live the green life today.

Segregation, in this sense, is segregating those biodegradable used materials to non-biodegradable stuff from the kitchen. The reason for this is that non-biodegradable materials could still be reuse and recycle to reduce the number of trashes each and every day.

I Heart Mother Earth

During the Sinulog Festival 2011, a group of boys, three adults and a little kid, each brought a plastic bag and roam around the Cebu City area to collect trashes that were recyclable.

In the image above, that guy was a bit far away from me. I already saw him asking from the audiences, those who were watching the street dancing competition along the Jones Avenue in Cebu City, some recyclable stuff like plastic cups, bottles and more to just throw those in his plastic bag rather than throwing elsewhere.

While they were approaching us already, I personally asked them if I could take a photo of them. Too cool enough and very friendly to me, they posted in front of me.

What they did, actually, was already a very helpful thing to preserve our Mother Earth. In that simplest way of just collecting recyclable stuff from people, is one clever way to help Cebu City clean, somehow.
